Edith W. Davidson, 98, of Warren went to be home with The Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2015, after a brief stay at the Warren General Hospital.
Edith was born August 21, 1917, on a one hundred acre farm in Stoopville, Bucks County, PA, to the late Edward B. and Laura Yerkes Wetherill.
She graduated from Hatboro High School; earned a bachelor?s degree from West Chester University; and a master?s degree from Westminster College in New Wilmington, where she was elected to the Honor Society. In addition, she studied at Beaver College in Jenkingtown, Philadelphia College of the Bible and Edinboro University.
She taught at Horsham School; Thomas Williams, Jr. High in Wyncote; Ludlow School as principal; Centennial Schools in Southampton; Wilcox High School; West Shore Schools in Lemoyne; Mahoning School in New Castle; Brokenstraw; and Warren County Schools. She established the elementary school libraries in Pittsfield, Youngsville and Irvine. She had also served as itinerate librarian in eight Warren County Schools.
She belonged to the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, Warren Senior Center and Pleasant Community Church. She enjoyed leading the Wednesday morning women?s Bible studies at the church, and was much loved and respected by the women she mentored.
In 1949, she married the Rev. Herman Davidson, who preceded her in death in 1991. In each church he pastured, she was active in ministry to children.
In addition to her husband and parents, Edith was preceded in death by one brother, E. Leroy Wetherill, and two sisters, L. Carolyn and Mary E. Witherill, all of Hatboro, PA.
Friends will be received at Pleasant Community Church, 673 Pleasant Dr., Warren, on Tuesday, September 22, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., at which time, a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Michael Poindexter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow, PA.

Church
The Covenant Mission held a "Singspiration" on New Year Eve with soloists from various places. Leroy Wetherill played solos on a saw. Various quartets and trios were sung composed of Pastor and Mrs. Herman Davidson, and Miss Norma Bergquist of Ludlow, Miss Mary Wetherill of Brooklyn, Miss Carolyn Wetherill and Leroy Wetherill of Hatboro, Pa., Harold Johnson and Miss Ellen Davidson of Warren. Vocal solos were sung by the Misses Mary Wetherill and Norma Bergquist. Christmas Eve service held at midnight also included Miss Mary Wetherill, Miss Norma Bergquist, and Leroy Wetherill as vocal soloists and violinists, with Mrs. Davidson playing the flute.
