- For much of her life, Dessie Relfe Rhoads worked as a machinist for Anaconda Copper in Anderson, IN and lived nearby at 2614 Meridian St. She was an avid bowler.
Obituary from Anderson Sunday Herald, Aug 5, 1984:
Dessie L. Rhoads, 74, Anderson, died Friday evening at Hancock County Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
She was born in Fairmount and was a resident of Anderson most of he rlife. She retired from Anaconda Wire after 30 years of employment. She also had worked at National Tile Company and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarine, the Rains Bowlettes and the East Side Lanes Retirees League.
She is survived by two sons, David Rhoads of Chicago and Daniel Rhoads of Duncannon, Pa.; a daughter, Mildred Smith of Sunnyvale, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Robert D. Loose Funeral Home with the Rev. Roland Dunlop officiating. Burial will be at Anderson MemorialPark Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
