The Last Sad Rites.
The funeral obsequies of Augustus Sherman took place at one o'clock yesterday afternoon from his late resideuc (sic), corner of Glen street and Sherman avenue. The funeral was the largest held in Glens Falls in a number of years, the house being filled to overflowing with friends and acquaintances of the deceased, among tho number being nearly one hundred relatives. Rev. A. J. Fennel, pastor of tho Presbyterian church, officiated. Tho casket is of cedar, covered with fine broadcloth, which was inclosed (sic) in a burglar-proof grave vault, made of boiler iron, before depositing it in the grave. D. W. Sherman, H. G. Lapham, Alexander Canfield, George Rugge, of Glens Falls; Lemon Thomson, of Albany; and W. W. Weed, of Saratoga, acted a pall bearers, the first a son and the other sons-in-law of deceased. The grandsons--W. A. Sherman, Henry L. Sherman, A. S. Rugge, Frank Caulield, Arthur Sherman, of this place, and W. R.
