      Nicholas Resak Sr. of Kirkwood

      Nicholas Resak Sr., 93, went to be with his Lord on Oct. 12, 2009, after a brief illness at the Wilson Memorial Hospital. At Heavens Gate he joins his beloved wife Mary, his son Nicholas Jr., his polka dancing, karate les-A les-A sons, and hunting and fishing. Nicholas Resak Sr. of Kirkwood Nicholas Resak Sr., 93, went to be with his Lord on Oct. 12, 2009, after a brief illness at the Wilson Memorial Hospital. At Heavens Gate he joins his beloved wife, Mary, his son Nicholas Jr., his siblings Michael, Mary, Katherine, Helen; Anna, and the twin babies. He is survived by his daughtes and sons-in-law, Marlene and Jim Snell, Indiana, Fran and Bernie Rowe, Kirkwood, Kathy and Jake Tutko, Kirkwood, twelve grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. several nieces and nephews. Nick was a long time employee of Endicott Johnson and had also worked at the Binghamton Psychiatric Center, and retired in 1979. He was a longtime member of the Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church and also a veteran of WW II in which he had served in the U.S. Army . Nicolas enjoyed life to the fullest by experiencing polka dancing, karate lessons, and hunting and fishing.

      A prayer service "Parastas" will be held Thursday 10 a.m. at the Sedlock Funeral Home, Inc., 161 Clinton St., Binghamton with the Rev. John Cigan officiating. Burial will immediately follow alter the service at the Holy Spirit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family family asks that those wishing may make memorial contributions contributions in Nicholas' memory to the Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, 358 Clinton St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
