CISSELL, Joseph "Gordon"
March 3, 1923 - December 10, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Cissell of Crossfield, Alberta. Along with his beloved wife of sixty-three years Bernice, Gordon will be greatly missed by his sons Wayne and Allan and their families as well as his brothers Joe, Paul, Len and Bernard and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was a proud veteran of WWII having served in North Africa and Sicily, 1943 to 1945. He eventually went on to operate his own company, B&C Coverings which he ran from 1956 to 1976. Gordon then enjoyed many years of retirement with Bernice travelling (sic) and spending winters in Hemet, California. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Bernard and Alice as well as his brothers Delbert, James and Don and his sisters Bernice and Helen. The family expresses a special thank you to the staff of Didsbury Hospital and the Agape Hospice for their loving care. Prayers will be held at Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street, Airdrie, Alberta on Monday. December 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. with Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 14. 2010 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to Agape Hospice, 1302 - 8 Avenue N.W., Calgary, Alberta T2N1B8.
