Freda Irene "Peggy" Kinne, age 100, died peacefully in her sleep on December 18, 2020, after testing positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) earlier in December.
Peggy was born in Clarkton, MO, to Freda Opal Pierce and Arthur B.F. Jones. Peggy's mother died from tuberculosis when she was five years old.
During World War II, Peggy worked at the AC Spark Plug plant in Flint, MI, making sparkplugs for wartime aircraft. She later moved to San Diego, CA., and in 1949 married John Francis "Jack" Kinne. They were married for nearly 62 years. Their daughter, Catherine Sue Kinne, was born in May of 1953.
Peggy outlived much of her family, including her husband, daughter, grandson, and three siblings. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Luebke and Patricia Teder and her husband, John, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy loved her church, her family & friends, dancing to 1940s music, and was an avid San Diego Chargers fan.
A funeral mass will be held at St Martin of Tours Catholic Church in La Mesa, CA., date and time to be determined.
