Jack A. Capps
SOUTH HAVEN -- Jack Arthur Capps, 76, of South Haven passed away Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at South Haven Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 at Calvin-Starks and Frost Funeral Home, South Haven, with the Rev. James Capps of Indianapolis and the Rev. Billy Dalton of South Haven, officiating. Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the charity of their choice.
Jack was born April 24, 1922, to J. Kenneth and Frances Capps in Lacota, Mich. He owned and operated Capps Quality Bakery. He also worked at Stone's Meat Packing Co., for 18 years and recently the Golden Brown Bakery until his retirement. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 667 in South Haven.
On Aug. 9, 1950, in Gallup, N.M., he married Dorothye M. Radosevich, and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters Sue Deckard of Hartford; Jan Pfaff and Cathy (Terry) Quinn, both of South Haven; three sons the Rev. James (Alice) Capps of Indianapolis, Joe (Nancy) Capps of Grand Rapids, Jack (Mary) Capps of Zeeland, Mich.; two sisters June Procyk of Palmdale, Calif., Linda Acree of Phoenix; nine grandchildren Terri, Kim, Joe, Amy, Becky, Sarah, Michael, Brandon and Nicole; three great-grandchildren Zack, Zoe, Lindsay; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Kenneth and Frances Capps; and a brother, Ed Capps, in 1968.
