      GALESBURG - Jerome G. "Jerry" Larson, 56, of 770 E. Losey St., Galesburg, Ill., died on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at 5:20 a.m. at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Iowa.

      He was born to A. Victor and Joyce Graham Larson on Oct. 28, 1949, in Galesburg, Ill. He married Kathleen Murray on April 26, 1969, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kenosha, Wis.

      He is survived by his wife, Kathy; one son, Michael (Erin) of Chicago; one daughter, Carrie (Dave) Nelson of Naperville; one brother, James (Barbara) of Plano, Texas; two sisters, Judy (Pat) Reed of Galesburg and Joan (Jim) St. Laurent of Los Altos, Calif.; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Grace Nelson; and one grandson, James Larson.

      He was preceded in death by one son, James, on Oct. 19, 1996.

      He graduated from Costa Catholic High School in 1967.

      He worked for three years as a floor mechanic and carpet layer for Warfield-McCullough Lumber Co. in Monmouth, Ill. He then was hired at Burlington Northern Railroad on April 14, 1970, as a conductor and was still working at the time of his death.

      Jerry was a third and fourth degree member of Father J.O. Hunt Knights of Columbus Council 556. He also served as the faithful comptroller for the Fourth Degree Knights. He chaired the Tootsie Roll drive for several years. Jerry and his family received the honor of being named the Family of the Year from the Knights of Columbus. Jerry also had been named Knight of the Year.

      He served on the Costa School Board for six years.

      He was a member of UTU Local 195 and served as president from 1982-1990.

      Jerry was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where he served as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.

      Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, at his church, with Father William Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Watson Funeral Home, with prayers at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

      Memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Church.

      GALESBURG -- James Murray "Jimmy" Larson, 26, of 770 E. Losey died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 1996, at his residence.

      He was born Jan. 10, 1970, in Galesburg to Jerome G. and Kathleen E. Murray Larson.

      Surviving are his parents of Galesburg; his grandparents, Francis J. Murray of Kenosha, Wis., and Joyce Larson of Galesburg; one brother, Michael G. of Galesburg; and one sister, Carrie A. Nelson of Arlington, Va.

      He attended Warren Achievement School in Monmouth.

      He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg.

      Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his church. The Rev.

      James McAteer will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

      Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home, with a wake service at 8 p.m.

      Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

      Memorials may be made to his church or to Community Hospice of America.
