R.PIERREPONT SERVICES BEING ARRANGED HERE
Funeral service were being arranged today for Robert Low Pierrepont, 68, retired business executive and director and trustee of many Brooklyn firm. Mr. Pierrepont, who lived at No. 580 Park avenue, Manhattan, died after a heart stack yesterday on the Hanover Square station platform of the Third avenue elevated railway.
The son of the late Henry Evelyn Plerrepont and Ellen Low Pierrepont, of the Columbia Heights area where the family name is perpetuated in Plerrepont street, he was rturnlng (sic) from his oce (sic) at No. 63 Wall street, when he collapsed. Ha was dead when the ambulance arrived.
Mr. Pierrepont's mother was a sister of Seth Low, the Mayor of New York in 190J and 1903, and on his father's side he was a descendant of John Jay, first chief Justice of the United States.
Among the local firms with which Mr. Pierrepont was associated were the Brooklyn Union Gas Company, South Brooklyn Savings Bank Brooklyn Trust Company, Fulton Fire Insurance Company. Greenwood Cemetery, Hanover Fire Insurance Company and the Home Life Insurance Company. He also was a Junior warden of Grace Church and for twenty-nine years he was a member of the standing committee of the Protestant Episcopal diocese of Long Island.
He leaves his wife, the former Kathryn I. Reed; a son, Commdr. John Jay Pierrepont; two sisters, Mrs. R. Burnham Moffat and Mrs Lea McLuques, and two brothers Seth Low Pierrepont and R. Stuyvesant Pierrepont.
