Donald J. Liptak, 95, of Streator passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Stephen?s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be, Kyle Liptak, Greg Palko, Dago Gall and Rob Keen. Full military rites will be accorded by the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.
Born March 5, 1924 in Streator he was the son of Leo and Josephine (Kohan) Liptak. He married Mary Decker on June 23, 1951. She preceded him in death on May 24, 1998.
He is survived by his son, Jim (Ralene) Liptak of Crandall, Texas; a daughter in law, Leann Liptak of Streator; grandchildren, Cory (David) Kreitzer of Normal, Mandy (Scott) Rick of Louisville, Kentucky, Kyle (Morgan) Liptak of Texas and Miranda (Clay) Coker of Texas; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sons, Rick and Gary Liptak; brothers, Lawrence and Manley Liptak; and a sister, Lucille Palko.
Born and raised in Streator he attended Streator schools and Streator High School.
He served in the United States Army during WW II.
He worked for Owens Illinois Glass Company for many years until his retirement.
He was a member of the former St. Stephen?s Church. He was also a member of the Streator Eagles Club, Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 217.
