      Karen M. Adamchak
      1939-2010

      STREATOR -- Karen M. Adamchak, 70, of Streator, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, at St. Mary's Hospital.

      Memorial services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Winterrowd Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.

      She was born June 14, 1939, in Streator, to Raymond and Eva (Sauers) Decker. She married Andrew Adamschak on Oct. 22, 1957, who survives.

      Also surviving are daughters, Julie (Richard) Lotshaw, Mary (Steve) Southey and Kelly (Ray) Durdan, all of Streator; sons, Andrew Adamchak Jr., and Joe (Traci) Adamchak, both of Streator; brother, Raymond ( Geralaine) Decker of Streator: nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Joe Strutynski; brothers, Fredrick and Donald Decker; and sisters, Maxine Hritz and Mary Liptak.

      She was a certified nurses aide at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, a waitress at the Elks Lodge and a cook at Gabby D's Restaurant.

      She was a member of the Streator Eagles Auxiliary. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and Streator Township High School.

      She was an avid card player.

      Memorials may be directed to the family of Karen M. Adamchak.

      Karen was a joyful person and she cared for her family and friends deeply.

      J.Strutynski

      Joseph Strytynski, 64, 510 Sangamon, succumbed at 8:50 a.m., today in St. Mary's hospital. He had been in ill health the past five weeks.

      Visitation will be at Liptak funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m., Sunday. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

      Mass of christian burial will be Monday at 9:30 a.m., from St Stephen's church. Burial will be in St. Stephen's cemetery.

      Born in Poland, Aug. 15, 1909, he was son of Peter and Theresa Strytynski. He married Eva Sauer, Jan. 5, 1950 at St. Stephen's church.

      She survives with three stepdaughters, Mrs. Edward (Maxine) Hritz, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Liptak and Mrs. Andrew (Karen) Adamchak, all of Streator; three step-sons: Robert Donald Decker, Chickasha, Okla.; Raymond Decker, Streator; and John Decker, Boston, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; a great grandchild; a brother, Walter, Oakbrook and a sister, Mrs. Bernice Micekis, Homewood.

      Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother a sister, and his first wife, Betty Pohlod in 1947.

      Mr. Strutynski resided in streator the past 35 years moving here from Chicago. He retired from Anthony company in 1971. He was a member of St Stephen's church.
