  Find A Grave Memorial Walter Lyman Sackett Birth: Jan. 26, 1896 Death: Jan. 26, 1961 Burial: Utica Daily Press January 27, 1961 Whitesboro - Walter L. Sackett of 30 Owens place, died in his home yesterday on his 65th birthday. He was born in Brooklyn, the son of Walter and Julia Mead Sackett, and was educated there. He lived in Whitesboro for the last 13 years. For 25 years he was a representative of Oakite Products Inc. Mr. Sackett was a member of Dryer Memorial Methodist Church, Amicable Lodge 664, F & AM, the American Electroplaters Society, and a life member of Whitestown Post 1113, American Legion. He was an Army Veteran of World War I. His first wife, the former Esther Barrett, of Utica, died in 1939. On Oct. 11, 1947, he married Elsie Merrifield of Utica. He leaves besides his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Jack T. Baxter of New Harford, and Mrs. William D. Keefe of Clark Mills, a sister, Mrs. Leon F. Whitney of Orange, Conn., six grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. The funeral will be tomorrow from the Dimbleby Funeral Home with the Rev. Lavern C. Dibble, pastor of the Dryer Memorial Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McConnellsville Cemetery in the spring.
