      Miller-Bavencoff Nuptials Announced

      Miss Shirley Sue Bavencoff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Bavencoff, became the bride of John Perry Miller, son of Mrs. Myrtle Miller of San Diego, in a quiet ceremony in Yuma, Saturday, November 26. Mr. and Mrs. William F. Johnson were the bride and bridegroom's attendants.

      The bride, who attended elementary, junior high, and high schools in National City is a senior at Sweetwater and plans to remain here until the end of the school year. She has been active in the pompon corps, is a majorette and is a member of the school choir, and of a social club, Les Cherettes. Mr. Miller is a paratrooper, stationed in Kentucky with the 11th Airborne.

      Gustave Bavencoff

      Gustave Bavencoff, 85, died Jan. 10 at a local convalescent hospital. Born Oct. 12, 1902, in Marshall, Colorado, he lived in the county 61 years and was a Bonita resident.

      He was a chef at Hotel Del Coronado for 35 years before his retirement.

      Survivors include his son David of Alpine, daughter Shirley Miller of Bonita, sister Jennie Logan of El Cajon, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

      Graveside services were at La Vista Memorial Park, under the direction of Berge-Roberts Mortuary.
