Harry R. Sackett
Harry R. Sackett, 85, of Route 9 (Wheatfield Road), a retired self-employed painter and decorator and a lifelong Battle Creek area resident, died last night in a local hospital where: he had been a patient since Jan. 29. He had been in ill health the past two years. He was born Sept. 2, 1879 in Battle Creek, son of Llewellyn and Mae (Ormsby) Sackett. He was married Feb. 16, 1915 in Battle Creek to Vesta L. Benfer. She survives, in addition to four daughters, Mrs. Allison (Frances) Caldwell of Reading, Mrs. Dale (Marie) Jacoby of Reading. Mrs. Raymond (Louise) Walsh of Ubly, Mich, and Mrs. Elton (Edith) Carnes of 327 Sherman Drive; four sons. William R. of South Gate, Calif., Frank of Wilmington, Calif., Earl W. of 215 Winter St. and Fred L. of Augusta; 33 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Sackett was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
