Shirley Belle"Knowlton" Edwards died Monday July 15, 2013, at age 92 following a long illness, residing at Wedgwood Nursing Home, Ft. Worth,Texas.
Ms. Edwards was born March 9, 1921 in Pittsburg, KS to Guy A. and Lena B. (Moore) Sackett. Ms. Edwards resided in the Pittsburg, Kansas area most of her life, she was a graduate of Pittsburg High School.
Shirley married John "Waymon" Edwards in May 1985.
Ms. Edwards worked for the Department of Commerce for many years retiring in 1980. Ms. Edwards was a member of the First Christian Church, DAR, American Legion Auxillary, Senior Citizens Women's Group Bowling League, AARP and a lifetime member of NARFE.
Ms. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband John in 1988 and her daughter Vickie Lee (Knowlton) Gladson in 2011.
Survivors include Allan Gladson and Denese (Gladson) and husband Michael, and great-grandchildren Amanda, Seth, Hailey and Jaiden.
Graveside Services will be 10am Wednesday July 24, 2013 at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS with Mike Ehling officiating.
Visitation will be informal from 2-8pm Tuesday July 23, 2013 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. E-mail condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Arrangements are by Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg, Kansas.

ALVARADO -- Victoria Lee Knowlton Gladson entered into the kingdom of the Heavenly Father on Friday, July 8, 2011, after a long illness.
SERVICE: No services are planned.
She was born July 17, 1944, to Leroy and Shirley Knowlton in Pittsburg, Kan. Victoria grew up in Pittsburg and attended schools there, graduating from Pittsburg High School in 1962. She attended cosmetology school at Kansas State Teachers College and upon graduation worked at various local beauty salons. On Aug. 14, 1966, she married and had two children and later divorced in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Knowlton; and grandparents, Guy and Lena Sackett.
SURVIVORS: Mother, Shirley Edwards of Fort Worth; daughter, Denese Gladson Garrett and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Amanda, Seth and Halle; and son, Allan Gladson of Fort Worth.
