      Paul F. Sackett

      SPARTANBURG -- Paul F. Sackett, 68, of 163 Overbrook Circle, died at a local hospital late Saturday night after a long illness.

      A native of Talmadge, Ohio, he was a son of the late Frank H. and Margaret McNeely Sackett. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a Mason, and a Kiwanian.

      Surviving are his wife, Mrs Elise Meyer Sackett; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Engley of Spartanburg, Mrs. Julianne Scruggs of Spartanburg, and Mrs. Jean Warren of Winter Park, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Stanley Rothrock and Mrs. Clair Harrah, of Cuyahoga, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Fred Poag. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

      The body is at J. F. Floyd Mortuary and will be placed in the church Tuesday at 3 p.m.

      Warren-Sackett Vows Solemnized

      SPARTANBURG, S.C., July 12.--Miss Jean Elise Sackett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul F. Sackett of this city and Harry Davenport Warren Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. Warren, Sr., of Allendale were married July 8 at 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church. Dr. William R. Ward, pastor, performed the ceremony.

      Preceding the ceremony a peogram (sic) of nuptial music was presented by John Williams, organist, Mrs. Byrd Austell Thompson, soloist, and Mrs. Barney J. Haynes, Jr., violinist.

      Mrs. Robert E. Engley, sister of the bride was matron-of-honor and Miss Betty Warren, sister of the bridegroom of Allendale was maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Solon Scruggs, sisters of the bride of Tampa, Fla., Miss Rosanne Rothrock, cousin of the bride of Cuyahoga Falls, O., Mrs. Richard Brunson of Ft. Campbell, Ky., and Mrs. Norman Patterson of Columbia.

      Harry D. Warren, Sr., father of the bridegroom was best man. Groomsmen were Richard Mixon and Donald Stone of Allendale, Lsrtique Riley of Columbia, Robert Engley of Charlotte N.C., Solon Scruggs, Tampa, Fla., and Raymond Kahle of Dekals, Ill.

      The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of bride's summer satin and imported chantilly lace. The tight fitting satin bodice was fashioned with a low scalloped neckline with long sleeves extending to points over the hands. The back was plain with tiny self-covered buttons to the waistline. The skirt was styled with a lace peplum in front joining in the back to become a full sweeping train of chantilly lace over satin. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion was caught to a Mary Stuart cap of chantilly lace.

      WARREN,JEAN SACKETT, age 83, of Winter Park, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010. Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harry Davenport Warren, Jr. and parents, Paul F. Sackett and Elise Meyer Sackett of SC. Born in Greenville, SC and resided in Winter Park, FL since 1953. She is survived by four daughters Elise Warren of Birmingham, AL, Leigh Warren Mycoff (Robert L.) of Orlando, FL, Amy Warren Beaty of Richmond, VA, Julia Perez (Alberto) of Bogota, Colombia and Winter Park, FL; four grandchildren Whitney Blair Mycoff, Amy-Morgan Mycoff, John Davenport Beaty, Samuel Ellis Warren Beaty. After attending Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, she taught school in Gastonia, NC. She and her husband Harry moved to Winter Park. She was a long time member of Winter Park Presbyterian Church and served as the president of the Women of the Church. Jean was an involved community volunteer serving as president of Junior Service League of Winter Park, a member of the Junior League of Greater Orlando, president of the Winter Park Youth Center, Honorary Life member of the Women of the Church of Winter Park Presbyterian Church, Honorary member of Tri Delta sorority, Board Member of the Women?s Residential and Counseling Center of Orlando, and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. She received the Converse College Community Service Award in 1998. Jean and Harry enjoyed traveling to Europe. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren supporting their interests and activities. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 1:30 p.m., in the Reformation Chapel at the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, 106 East Church Street, Orlando, FL, 32801, 407-423-3441. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 3 p.m., at Palm Cemetery in Winter Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church After School Outreach Ministry, 106 East Church Street, Orlando, FL 32801.
