McKay ? In River Falls June 11, 1878 Lucy A., wife of W. H. McKay in the 63d year of her age. River Falls Journal 6-13-1878

McKay ? At River Falls, Tuesday meeting, June 11, 1878, of consumption, Lucy A., wife of W. R. McKay aged 63 years. Mrs. McKay has for years been a consistent Christian , uncomplaining under the pain which for years she has suffered, and looking forward to death as a release and pleasure, rather than with fear: and as she lived, so she died, trusting in that it would be better with her.
Lucy A. Allen was married to W. H. McKay in the State of New York in October, 1835 and for 43 years they have journied (journeyed) through life together. They came to River Falls ten years ago, uniting with the Congregational church in this place the same fall.
For many years, Mrs. McKay has been a great sufferer, but has borne her pain and sickness with such uncomplaining fortitude that few except her immediate friends and relatives knew the extent to which she suffered. Her funeral which took place on Wednesday was largely attended by friends and relatives of the family. River Falls Free Press 6-13-187
