Obituary
Gary Dale Sackett passed into the arms of our loving Lord April 4, 2016. Gary was a selfless man from early in life. This was most evident in the fact that he married Odessa Dalene Godby on Aug. 1, 1966 taking on 6 children that were not his own. They then had two boys of their own. He was a truck driver for most of his life and retired as a school bus driver for Slaton ISD. He adored his children and grandchildren. His love for his wife was an example of how a marriage should be. His hobbies included wood working and he made many picture frames and various other intricately designed items for friends and family. He will be forever missed and remembered daily by his loving wife, Odessa; five daughters, Vickie, Rhonda, Brenda, Robin, & Janet; three sons, Royce, Gary, & Terry; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 6 from 5-7pm at Agape Funeral Chapel in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7 at 2pm at Bible Baptist Church Slaton followed by a burial at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
