PAUL H. CARMAN
Dunnellon, FL
Paul H. Carman, 91, a copy editor and telegraph editor at The Des Moines Register for 21 years, died April 25, 2003 of respiratory failure at home in Dunnellon.
A native of Lake Preston, S.D., Mr. Carman was on the editorial staff of The Register from 1934 to 1955, when he left to accept a position at the Detroit News. He retired from the Detroit newspaper in 1976, and moved to Florida with his wife, Trace, in 1987. Mrs. Carman died in 1991.
Mr. Carman is survived by a daughter, Anne Marie Christensen, of Dunnellon, FL; a son, John Carman, of San Francisco, CA; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 28 at the Roberts Funeral Home 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave. Dunnellon, FL 34432. The family requests memorials to Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, FL, or to Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dunnellon, FL.

Miss Anne Marie Carman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carman of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Des Moines, will be married Saturday to David Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Christensen of Walled Lake, Mich.
The wedding will take place in St. Mary's of Redford Church in Detroit; Both young people attended Michigan State University at East Lansing. After a wedding trip to Florida, they will live near Detroit.
