Elizabeth Hendricks Dies Last Evening - Funeral Services Monday Afternoon
Mrs. Elizabeth Hendricks, 68, of 121 North 15th Street, died at 5:20 p.m. Friday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital, where she had been confined since suffering a fractured hip in a fall 10 days ago.
She was born in Adams County March 1, 1882, a daughter of Hurbert and Elizabeth Topp, and was married to John A. Hendricks Nov. 8, 1899. Her husband preceded her in death March, 1942.
Surviving are five sons, Joe of Portland, Elmer and Richard, at home, Charles of Berne and Herman of Gary: six daughters, Mrs. Alice Murphy of New Corydon, Mrs. Pearl Shaw of Tipton, Mrs. Cora McFarland of Decatur, Miss Josephine Hendricks of Dayton, Ohio, and Miss Sarah Hendricks at home. 25 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; four brothers, John Topp of Wanedale, George of Fort Wayne, Joe of Delphos, Ohio, and Alvis of Coldwater, Michigan., and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Lafontaine of Decatur, Mrs. Mary Lafontaine and Mrs. Josephine Addy of Fort Wayne.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Black Funeral Home, the Rev John E. Chambers officiating. Burial will be in the Studebaker Cemetery three miles south of Berne. The body will be removed to the residence where friends may call after 4?oclock this afternoon until noon Monday, when it will be returned to the funeral home.
