      Norma Jane Hunt

      WINCHESTER. -- Nqrma Jane Hunt, 12 years old, died Thursday. She was the daughter of Mrs. Bertha Hunt, formerly of Winchester, now of Union City. She had been in poor health for about 10 years and seriously ill for the past month.

      Survivors besides the mother are four sisters. Mrs. Geraldine Gray, of Richmond, Patty Lou Hunt, of Union City. Marjorie Huffman and Mary Whitacre of Winchester; one brother, William Rogers Hunt, of Union City.

      Funeral services for Norma Jane Hunt will be held at the Fraze & Diggs Funeral home in Winchester at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon In charge of Rev. Russell Castle. Burial will be in the New Liberty cemetery near Winchester.

      Friends may call at the residence of Mrs. Whitaere, 723 North Meridian. Winchester.

      Rheumatic Fever Claims Life Of Union City Girl, 12.

      Rheumatic Fever today had taken another life, that of a 12-year-old Union City
      girl, Norma Jane Hunt. She had been ill for ten years.

      By coincidence, death came Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Wayne hospital in
      Greenville, just 15 min. after conclusion of the WLW "Builders of Destiny" radio
      program.

      It was this broadcast which honored Randolph county for its pumpkin auction to
      raise money and the resultant formation of the Randolph county rheumatic fever
      board to administer treatment to children afflicted with this deadly ailment.

      It was the second death due to rheumatic heart disease this year in Randolph
      county.

      Norma Jane was the daughter of the late Leonard Hunt and Mrs. Bertha Hunt, a
      former resident of Winchester,now residing in Union City.

      Funeral services will be held at the Fraze and Diggs funeral home Sunday
      afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. Russell Castle in charge. Interment will be
      in the New Liberty cemetery.

      The body will be removed to the residence in Union City where friends may call
      after 4 p.m. Friday. On Sat. the body will be removed to the home of the sister,
      Mary Whitacre, 723 North Meridian street, Winchester, where it will remain until
      the hour of the services.
