Scott Aaron Sackett, 16, passed away Friday night, Sept. 17, 1999, due to complications of an automobile accident. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Turner Chapel West, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills.
Survivors include his father, Walter; two sisters, Vicky and fiance Todd Quinn of Cedar Rapids and Kelly and fiance Casey Sanders of New. hall; two brothers, Mathew and Travis, both of Newhall; a niece, Keana, and two nephews, Keagan and Riley, all of Cedar Rapids; grandparents, Bill and Dorthy Sackett of Walker and Betty Roster of Cedar Rapids; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his best friend, Jay Ward.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon, and sister Alisha in 1989.
Scott was born Nov. 15, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. He was a sophomore at Benton Community High School, where he enjoyed wrestling. Scott was also an active hunter and fisherman and enjoyed working with his hunting dogs.
A memorial fund has been established.
