Girlinghouse - Johnson
Mr. and Mrs. Calvin D. Johnson of Colfax announce the engagement of their daughter Sarah Dianne Johnson of Colfax to James Maurice Girlinghouse of Ball, son of Mr. and Mrs. Judge M. Girlinghouse of Ball.
The couple will be married Dec. 17 in a 4 p.m. ceremony in the Tioga First Baptist Church with a reception following at the church.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emile Douzart of Alexandria and of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Johnson, also of Alexandria.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Liles of Athens and the late Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Girlinghouse of Jena.
The bride-elect and her fiance are both 1986 graduates of Grant High School and are currently sophomores at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe.
A rehearsal dinner will be held Dec. 16 at Lee J's on the Levee in Pineville.

Rodney E. Douzart
Services for Rodney Emile Douzart will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of John kramer & Son with the Rev. August Thompson officiating. Burial wil be in Frazier Cemetery, Prospect.
Douzart, 34, of Alexandria died at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Rapides General Hospital.
He was a native of Alexandria and a graduate of Alexandria Senior High School. He was employed at Albin's Texaco service station.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Albin Douzart of Alexandria; one son, Michael Thomas Douzart of Alexandria; three daughters, Alisha Ann Douzart, Ashley Ann Douzart and Michelle Elizabeth Douzart, all of Alexandria; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emile P. Douzart of Alexandria; two brothers, Johnny L. Douzart of Bremerton, Wash., and James L. Douzart of Dry Prong; and four sisters, Linda Johnson and Sarah Watkins, both of Colfax, Pat Crouch of Otis and Christine Adams of Huntsville, Texas.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.
A Christian wake service will begin at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Douzart, 74, of Alexandria died at 7 a.m. Sunday in Rapides Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and the church's Usher Society.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Chellette Douzart of Alexandria; two sons, Johnny L. Douzart of Bremerton, Wash., and James L. Douzart of Dry Prong; four daughters, Linda Johnson and Sarah Watkins, both of Colfax, Pat Crouch of Otis and Christine Adams of Huntsville, Texas; one sister, Zelda Moras of Baton Rouge; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.

A. C. Racine
Services for A.C. Racine will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Hixson Bros, with the Rev. Leland Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Frazier Cemetery, Bentley.
Racine, 79, of Colfax died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 1994, in Rapides General Hospital, Alexandria.
He was a native of Grant Parish and a member of Hollins Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a retired foreman for the state Highway Department.
Survivors include three daughters, Eunice Douzart of Alexandria, Linda Johnson and Sarah Watkins, both of Colfax; two brothers, Henry N. Racine of Jefferson, Texas, and Leon Racine of Minden; three sisters, Cecelia Hunter of Shreveport, Lucille Browder of Charlotte, Texas, and Frances Fontenot of Ville Platte; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Linda Douzart Johnson will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017, in The Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Dr. Chris Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in Frazier Cemetery, Prospect. Visitation will be observed from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Ben Girlinghouse, Justin Michiels, Logan Franks, Nathaniel Matthews, Ricky Watkins, Sean Bernard and Shay Bernard. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Johnson, James Johnson and Scott Johnson.
Linda Douzart Johnson, 68, of Colfax passed from this life on, Monday, March 20, 2017, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Linda was a bookkeeper by trade and retired from Brian Clinic with 35 years of service. Following her retirement she worked for Hardtner Medical Center for 3 years. Linda was an avid reader but her greatest joy was her grandkids. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Calvin D. Johnson; parents, Emile and Eunice Chelette Douzart, brother, Rodney Douzart, sister in law, Glenda Ardoin and brothers in law, Steve Crouch and Darwin Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Girlinghouse and husband, James; daughter of her heart, Tammy Franks and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Emily V. and Benjamin T. Girlinghouse; grandchildren of her heart, Justin K. Michiels and wife, Brooke, Logan and Katie Franks; sisters, Sarah Watkins (Richard), Patricia Crouch and Christine Adams (Wes); brothers, Johnny Douzart (DeeDee) and James Douzart; sisters in law, Kathy Douzart, Janell Johnson and Jimmie Bernard; brother in law, Glenn Johnson (Linda) and a host of other family members and friends.
