      Birthday Dinner at Bentley

Little De Alva Looper of Bentley, La., was honored on her second birthday, August 27, 1942, with a delightful dinner and party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rayford Looper.

The afternoon was spent in making pictures, and a delicious dinner of baked chicken and all the trimmings was served at 6 p. m. The dining room was beautifully decorated with wild summer flowers and corn lillies. The centerpiece of the table held an appetizing birthday cake with two glowing candles, which were blown out by the honoree in one attempt. The cake was cut by little De Alva, assisted by Miss Verla Looper, while Athena Looper sang "Happy Birthday to You."

The honoree was recipient of many War Savings Stamps, presented by the guests: Mr. T. O. Hart, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Eagles, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Looper, Lillian Ruth Looper, Mr. and Mrs. Rayford Looper, Margie Brimer, Mr. S .W. Looper, Mr. Tom Williams and Elsie Looper. Others presenting gifts were: Miss Verla Looper, Mrs. Doc Looper, Athena Looper, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Lasyone, Miss Lucille Lasyone of Winnfield and Mrs. Milstead Coffeeville, Kan.
