      Frances L. Young, age 95, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

      She was born December 11, 1916, in Council Bluffs, to Ben and Kate Alsip White. Frances worked in the Accounting Department at the John Day Company in Omaha before her retirement. She has been a member of Dodge Christian Church since 1935 and was very involved with her church activities, including their Friendship Club, and Bible Study Group.

      Frances's hobbies were her volunteering and continued support to Jennie Edmundson Hospital and their Auxiliary. She volunteered for over 14,679 hours at Jennie Edmundson in various roles, such as M and M Clown, Sparky the Fire Dog, and also served at the Jennie House. Frances received the Jennie Edmundson Volunteer of the Year Award, and spent her whole life giving to others, especially the needy. She bought countless snow suits and lunch tickets for the needy and her charity work continued at Dodge Christian where she supported their Scholarship Fund, sending kids to youth camp. A member of the Red Hat Society and former Queen of her chapter.

      Frances is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, Robert C. Young; son-in-law, Willard Lamb; one sister and three brothers.

      Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Jo Drake and husband, Harold Grosskopf, of Council Bluffs, Janet Lamb, of Omaha, Neb. and Carolyn Greunke and husband, Luther, of Arlington, Neb.; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

      Visitation with the family Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service Friday, 10 a.m., at Dodge Christian Church. Pastor Chris Williamson, Officiant. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery, followed by a luncheon back at Dodge Christian. Family has suggested memorials to Dodge Christian Church and their Scholarship Fund.
