Gladys M. Highhouse, 98, of Billings, passed away very peacefully at her residence on Feb., 23, 2017 surrounded by her granddaughter Lisa Lenhardt and her grandson-in-law Mark Lenhardt.

Gladys was born in Meyers on the family homestead on Dec. 15, 1918, to William and Nanabell Tanner and the sister of three brothers Sherman, Bang and Paul who really loved and spoiled her (contrary to what Gladys said). She was raised in Billings and graduated from Billings Senior High School in the spring of 1937.

Gladys married her teenage sweetheart Raymond L Highhouse on Christmas Eve 1938. Ray and Gladys were blessed with the birth of their two daughters Joanne (Zanetell) and Nancy (Parker) and had a wonderful marriage for 71 years.

Ray and Gladys owned the Triangle Grocery in Lockwood from 1952 until 1965. They then owned and ran the Western Bar in Billings until 1974. They retired to Red Lodge and moved back to Billing in 1983. Ray passed away in Billing in June of 2009. Gladys was loved and cherished by all of her friends and family.

She is survived by her immediate family, daughter Joanne Zanetell and husband Robert, daughter Nancy Parker and husband Paul. Grandchildren Robert Zanetell, Lisa Lenhardt (Mark), Stephanie Zickefoose (Troy); Great- grandchildren Mikel Anderson, Samantha Lenhardt, Alexander Johnson (Brittany), Allison Long, Parker Long, Hirsch Zickefoose, Thane Zickefoose, Tatum Zickefoose; and great-great-grandchildren twins Dawson and Ivy Anderson.

Gladys will be remembered for her wonderful outgoing personality and upbeat nature (also her famous cinnamon rolls, pies and creamy fudge). She was loved by all.

There will be a family memorial at Sunset Gardens with the interment of ashes alongside Raymond at 11 a.m., Ju1y 14.
