Louise M. (Sackett) Rhodes of Binghamton
Louise M. (Sackett) Rhodes, 87, a longtime resident at Garden House went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 21, 1999. She was predeceased by her husband, William Rhodes; three sons, Melvin Sackett, Leon Sackett, and Gerald Sackett. She is survived by her children: James and Bertha Sackett, Plattsburgh, Juanita and Cliff Brooks, Endicott, Devillo and Cindy Sackett, Binghamton, John and Cathy Sackett, Binghamton; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Jane, Lockwood, Margie, Kansas City, Mo., Beverly, Endicott; sister-in-law, Lena Fisher, Vestal. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 Noon at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc., 137 Robinson St., Binghamton with her pastor, Rev. Howard Hockenbury officiating. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Leon W. Sackett of Independence, Mo.
Leon W. Sackett, 50, formerly of Binghamton, died May 27, in Missouri. Survived by his wife, Bertha, at home; two children, Leon Jr. and Deborah Lee Sackett, both at home; three step-children; nine grandchildren; his mother and step-father, Louise and William Rhodes, Binghamton; five brothers, Melvin, Spencer, James, Plattsburg, Gerald, Endwell, Devillo, South Carolina and John, Binghamton; one sister, Juanita Mangan, Vestal; several nieces and nephews. He was a retired Air Force Veteran; he was a Shriner, a member of the Odd Fellows, an Eagle Scout and leader for over 20 years.
A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, at the United Fairview Methodist Church, Binghamton with Rev. Burtt Sweet officiating.

Pastor Devillo R. Sackett, 65, went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 11, 2009. He was predeceased by his wife Cynthia Sackett, parents William and Louise Rhodes, brothers Melvin, Gerald, James and Leon Sackett, and his grandson Steven Barton, Jr. He is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law; Michelle and Jessie Leal, Jolene and Steven Barton, Danielle Hallett, Melissa and Ron Brown, his son, Derek Hallett, his grandchildren Darrell, Heather, Shayna, Stephanie, Stephanie, Seth, Joshua, Devon, Devon, Victoria, Debbie, Cyndi and Grace, one brother John Sackett, and one sister Juanita Allen. Pastor Devillo was a Minister at Christian Faith Center, Binghamton and was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Navy. A Funeral Service will be held at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the Shea Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

William John Sackett, son of Howard W Sackett and Jessie M Campbell, was born in Greene, Chenango County, New York State, on 5 June 1908. He died aged 56 in Binghamton, Broome County, New York State, on 14 January 1965. He married in Binghamton on 27 November 1930, Mary Louise De Mun, known as Louise, daughter of Melvin A De Mun and Mand Bloat. Louise was born in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, on 14 May 1912.
In 1910 William was living at Grand Street, Greene, Chenango County, New York State, in the household of his parents Howard and Jessie, and was recorded in the census as William J Sackett, aged one and born in New York State.
In 1930 he was living at Prospect Avenue, Binghamton, in the household of his mother Jessie, and was recorded as William J Sackette, a shipping clerk for a grocery business, aged 21.
William and Louise were listed in the Binghamton City Directory in the 1930s and 1940s. William worked usually as a laborer, but was a chauffeur in the early 1930s.
