      RACINE - Virginia N. Sacket, 83, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Brookside Care Center, Kenosha.

      Virginia was born in Racine on December 27, 1922, daughter of the late George L. and Gerda Norman Pederson.

      On February 24, 1945 at Bethel Methodist Church in Racine she was united in marriage to John S. Sacket Sr. who preceded her in death, April 23, 1996.

      Virginia was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Racine for many years and was co-owner and Vice-President of Julius Anderson Horseradish Company, Somers, Wis.

      She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Racine Junior League and The American Kennel Club.
      She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

      Survivors include her three children, Sharon (Ned) Christopherson of Racine, John (Charlene) Sacket Jr. of Kenosha, William (Tina) Sacket of Plymouth, Wis;
      her eight grandchildren, William (Renne) Wendt IV, Carolyn (Richard) Null, Susan (John) Merrill, John Sacket III, Samuel Sacket, Brooks Larson, Vincent Sacket, Jack Sacket;
      her six great-grandchildren, Valerie, Taylor, Brittany, Averi, Michael, and "J.J."; her sister, Marjorie McQueen of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

      In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, Anthony Sacket; brother, Jerome (Marie) Pederson; brother-in-law, Robert McQueen; and niece, Barbara Hewitt.

      Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main Street, Monday, March 20, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating.

      Entombment will follow at Graceland Cemetery Garden Court Crypts.

      Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

      The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Brookside Care Center and Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care given.

      The Cradle Roll

      Named for his father is John Sterling Sacket Jr., born Aug. 7, to Mr. and Mrs. John Sacket, 1635 College Ave. Young John and his sister, Sharon Joyce, are the children of the former Virginia Pederson. Their grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Pederson and Dr. and Mrs. Sterling Sacket.

      Sharon Sacket Becomes Bride of William Norbert Wendt

      The diamond brooch which her maternal grandfather gave her grandmother was pinned at the waistline of Sharon Joyce Sacket's peau de soie wedding gown when she became the bride of William Norbert Wendt III on June 19. Dr. Claence Seidenspinner performed the candlelight double ring ceremony in First Methodist Church, and a reception reception at the Clayton House followed.

      The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sterling Sacket Sr. of 1635 College Ave. Her husband is the son of Mrs. Ethel Wilderman of [810 Main St. and William N. Wendt of 3423 Sheridan Road.

      The bride's gown was floor length, sheath style, with wide lace bordering the hemline hemline and matching lace, caught with seed pearls, appliqued on the bodice and three quarter quarter sleeves. Her circular sweep train fell from the waistline. Her bouffant Swiss illusion bridal veil was secured secured by a double queen's crown of rock crystal and seed pearls, and she carried a white orchid surrounded with white roses, carnations and ivy as her father gave her in marriage.

      Irene P. Lentz was the bride's sole attendant, with Kenneth Pauls acting as best man for the bridegroom. Ushers were the bride's brother, John Sterling Sacket Jr., and her cousin, Robert B. McQueen.

      Miss Lentz was in lime green crepe, designed on Grecian lines, with floor length sheath skirt and cascading cascading watteau back panel caught with self rolled roses. Her matching headpiece was 'of hairbraid with beehive veiling, veiling, and she carried yellow roses, yellow carnations and ivy.

      The senior Mrs. Sacket wore a champagne silk shantung shantung ensemble with lace accents. accents. Her accessories were champagne and her corsage was of light green cymbidium orchids. The bridegroom's mother wore a white linen dress with pink linen coat, white accessories and a corsage corsage of pale pink cymbidium orchids.

      After a short wedding trip, the Wendts are at home at 2100 Romayne Ave. The bride is a secretary in the Whitman coin division, and her husband is a draftsman in industrial product engineering engineering at J. I. Case Co.

      Rondi Sue Olson and John Sterling Sacket Jr. were married during a 4 p.m. ceremony Nov. 1 at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Wallace Spielman officiated.

      Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William T. Olson, 707 Echo Lane, and Mr. and Mrs. John S. Sacket, Sr., 10811 7th St., Somers.

      The bride's attendants were the maid of honor, Laurie Ann Olson, bridesmaids Sharon. Wendt of Franksvllle, Lynn Sherwood, Cheryl Klinkhammer, Paul Pranlnsky, Carol Weyraught of Kenosha, and flower girl Carolyn L. Wendt of Franksville.

      The bridegroom's attendants were the best man, William George Sacket, Somers, groosmen (sic) William N. Wendt III of Franksville, Gary L. tJeilson of Secane, Pa., Robert B. McQueen of Franksville, Jon C. Olson, Paul T. Weyrauch of Kenosha, and ring bearer William N. Wendt IV, Franksville. Ushers were Greg Hawkins and Pat McDevitt of Somers.

      The reception was held at Racine Motor Inn. The new Mr. and Mrs. Sacket Jr. are residing In Racine. The bridegroom is employed by Thorton-Reichert Inc., New Berlin.

      RACINE - Mr. John Sterling Sacket Sr., 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 1996, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee.

      He was born in Racine on September 1, 1919, son of the late Sterling C. and Grace Hackett Sacket and was a lifelong resident of Racine and Somers. On February 24, 1945, he was united in marriage to Virginia Norma Louise Pederson.

      Mr. Sacket was employed by the Peerless Machine Company, Young Radiator Company, Birdsall Buick, Racine Buick, Huntoon Buick of Kenosha, Don Hutson Chevrolet-Cadillac, Racine Volkswagon, Lemay and Sons of Kenosha, Merten Motors of Kenosha, and was the Owner and President of the Julius Anderson Horseradish Company of Somers. He retired from employment in 1986 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

      Survivors include his wife, Virginia; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon (Ned) Christopherson of Racine; his two sons and daughters-in-law, John (Charlene) Sacket Jr. of Kenosha, William (Tina) Sacket of Racine; seven grandchildren, William (Renne) Wendt IV, Carolyn (Richard) Null, Susan Sacket, John Sacket III, Samuel Sacket, Brooks Larson, Vincent Sacket; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brittany, and Valerie; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

      He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Anthony Sacket.

      Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main Street, Saturday, April 27, 1996, 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Harvey Delery officiating. Entombment will follow at Graceland Garden Crypts. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Friday from 6 until 8 p.m.
