      HAPPY ? Ruby Mae Sackett Frost, 96, of Happy died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015.

      Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church in Happy with the Rev. Tom Stribling officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery in Happy. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.

      Ruby was born April 6, 1919, on a farm five miles west of Pampa to Jim Sackett and Elsie Arnold Sackett in a blizzard. Her neighbors took a buggy to get the doctor, and the blizzard was so bad that the doctor had to stay for a couple of days.

      Ruby?s mother and grandmother died in the flu epidemic of 1919, when Ruby was just 9 months old. At the age of 12, Ruby moved to Happy to live with Grandpa Arnold after her first stepmother died.

      It was in Happy that she met John E. ?Jack? Frost, as he lived just down the street from Grandpa Arnold. They were married in Vega by Judge B. L. Freeman on Nov. 26, 1936. They were married for 71 years. They moved to the farm five miles west of Happy, where Ruby resided until her death.

      Ruby was very involved with her boys in church and in their school events. It was in Happy and the ranch in Endee, N.M., that she and Jack raised their four boys, Bill, Bob, Len and Zeke. Ruby enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved them all.

      She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Sackett; her stepmothers, Myrtle Vera Murdy Sackett and Lucy Sackett; her father, J.D. ?Jim? Sackett; her half brothers, J.D. Sackett, C.H. Sackett and baby Jerry Sackett; her half sisters, Vera Cornett and Edna Bryant; and two daughters-in-law, Joan Nobile Frost and DJ Crain Frost Pennington.

      Survivors include four sons, Bill Frost of Pampa, Bob Frost and wife Jane of San Jon, N.M., Len Frost and wife Vicki of Tucumcari, N.M., and Zeke Frost and wife Susie of Happy; three half brothers, Floyd Sackett and wife Janice of Pampa, Paul Sackett and wife Martha of Dallas and Dan Sackett and wife Bonnie of Amarillo; two half sisters, Billie Enterline of Long Beach, Calif., and Dana Sue Biship of Karnes City; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

      The family will receive friends following the service at 8301 W. Farm-to-Market Road 1705 in Happy.

      In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 56, Happy, TX 79042.

      HAPPY - John E. "Jack" Frost, 91, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008.

      Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Stribling officiating.

      Burial will be in Happy Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors.

      Jack was born Nov. 30, 1916, in Vigo Park to the late William Lenord and Frances Esma Frost. He grew up in Happy and graduated from Happy High School. He married his childhood sweetheart, Ruby Mae Sackett on Nov. 26, 1936, in Vega. Jack farmed and ranched in Happy and Endee, N.M., all of his adult life. He was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church. He served as a Randall County ASCS Board member for 20 years and he was a 32nd Degree Mason for 62 years.

      He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth.

      Survivors include his wife, Ruby; four sons, Bill Frost and wife Linda of Pampa, Bob Frost and wife Jane of San Jon, N.M., and Len Frost and wife Vicki of Tucumcari, N.M., and Zeke Frost and wife Susie of Happy; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

      In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 56, Happy, TX 79042; Happy Community Center, P.O. Box 392, Happy, TX 79042; or Happy Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 216, Happy, TX 79042.

      The family will receive visitors after services at the Community Center in Happy.
