      Ilah Jane Molby Miller
      Funeral services for Ilah Jane Molby Miller, 76, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, with Chaplain Wilton Detweiler officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

      Mrs. Miller died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.

      She was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Washington County, Kan., the daughter of Frank R. and Leoda O. Sackett Molby. She attended schools in Clinton, Kan., and graduated from Washington High School.

      Mrs. Miller was an office assistant at the University of Kansas for nearly 36 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and a Deaconness in the Christian Church. She was also a member of the Kaw Valley Good Sam Camping Club.

      She married Bernard Leroy Miller on June 24, 1973 in Lawrence. He died Jan. 1, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Verda North Molby, and her stepbrother, Clifford Hamill.

      Survivors include two stepsons, Michael L. Miller, Lawrence, and Patrick Miller, Olathe; two stepdaughters, Angie McClure, Lecompton, and Judy Hadley, Seattle; three brothers, the Rev. Robert Molby and wife Fayetta, Omaha, Frank Molby and wife Sharon, Lawrence, and Eugene Molby, Ulysses; nine stepgrandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.

      Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

      The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS, 66044.

      Services for Bernard L. Miller, 73, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ron Goodman officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert C. Molby. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

      Mr. Miller died Sunday, Jan. 1, 1995, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

      He was born Feb. 9, 1920, at Smith Center, the son of Byron Leroy and Nellie May McNeil Miller.

      He moved from Lawrence to Seattle, Wash., in 1938. He returned to Lawrence in 1941 and was a painter for the Buildings and Grounds Department at Kansas University for 32 years, retiring on June 1, 1982.

      Mr. Miller was a member of the First Christian Church, Kansas National Guard from 1940 to 1945, a 30-year member of the Eagles Lodge and a past member of the Kaw Valley Good Samaritan Camping Club, all in Lawrence.

      He married Ilah Jane Molby on June 24, 1973, in Lawrence. She survives at the home.

      Other survivors include two sons, Michael L., Lawrence, and Patrick, Olathe; two daughters, Angie McClure, Lecompton, and Judy Hadley, Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Cecil Miller, Topeka, and Eldon Miller, Perry; one sister, Iola Kapfer, Lawrence; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

      Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

      The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church or the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. They may be made in care of the funeral home.

      Eugene G. Molby

      ULYSSES -- Eugene G. Molby, 78, died Friday, Nov, 26, 2010, at the Legacy in Ulysses, where he was a resident.

      He was born May 16, 1932, in Greenleaf to Frank R. and Leodah Sackett Molby. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

      He and Doris A. Brack were married Dec. 10, 1950, at Leoti.

      They moved from Scott City to Ulysses in the early 1970s. She preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2009.

      Molby worked in produce at Ideal's in Scott City and Ulysses and at Jack & Jill IGA in Ulysses and also worked for Berkley Medical Center in Ulysses.

      Survivors include two sons, Douglas Molby of Ulysses and Kelvin Molby of Odessa, Texas; two daughters, Sharon Davis of Ulysses and Janene Hamilton of Liberal; two brothers, Robert C. Molby of Elkhorn, Neb., and Frank W. Molby of Lawrence; and seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

      He also was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ilah Jane Miller.

      Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Free Will Baptist Church. Burial was to be in Ulysses Cemetery. Grant County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      A memorial has been established for The Legacy. Memorials may be mailed to Grant County Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Ulysses.
