Dorothy L. Rand, age 98 of Bellingham, WA passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. She was born July 9, 1917 in Wichita, KS to Elmer and Louise Redd.
In earlier years Dorothy worked in the fashion industry and was Queen of the El Monte, CA Pioneer Days. She married David F. Rand in 1939 in Anaheim, CA and they moved the family to Bellingham in 1959. Dorothy loved to ballroom dance and play golf. She was the best mom in the whole wide world.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband David Rand, son Stephen Rand and brothers Gene and Ken Redd. She is survived by her son Michael (Francine) Rand, daughter Nancy (Wayne) Bergman, grandchildren Monica (Manuel) Padilla and their children Irrylyn, Isabela, Emilio and Efrain, Michael Curtiss (Shannon) and their daughter Pepper, and Matthew Curtiss and his son Charlie, Denise (Stacy) Craun, Michelle Rand and Jason Rand (Amy) and their children Jane and Alex, and step-grandsons Stephen and Jesten Bergman.
Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice. A celebration of Dorothy?s life will be held at the Squalicum Boathouse at Zuanich Point, 2600 Harbor Loop in Bellingham at 11 AM on Thursday, August 27th.
