RETIRED FARMER, ONCE ECKF0RD OFFICIAL, DIES
Louis (sic) Daniel Sackett, 73, Formerly Township Treasurer: Spent Most Of Life in Vicinity.

Louis Daniel Sackett, 73, retired farmer, former treasurer of Eckford township and prominent in Methodist church circles, died at his home, 323 North Marshall avenue, at 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Although he had been in ill health for the last year he had been critically ill for only four weeks.
Mr. Sackett was born in Eckford township January 22, 1859, where he spent most of his life. He retired 12 years ago, coming to Marshall to make his home. He served as treasurer of Eckford township in 1914 and for many years was superintendent of the Sunday school of the Eckford Methodist church.
He is survived by his widow, Emily Belle; a son, Robert Sackett of Marshall; three daughters, Mrs. J. F. McKale of Tucson. Ariz., Mrs. H. C. Hurd of Phoenix. Ariz., and Mrs. C. R. Hills and a son. Louis L. Sackett, both residing In Battle Creek.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the home. The Rev. William Chapman of the Brooks' Memorial church will be in charge and burial will be in Oakridge cemetery.
