  From Newspapers.com Hartford Courant (Hartford, Connecticut), 27 Feb 1945, p. 39: A special Republican guest at a luncheon Friday for GOP National Chairman Mary Louise Smith at the Hartford Sheraton will be Mrs. Katherine Evarts of Kent. Mrs. Evarts' great-grandfather was Edwin D. Morgan, one of the four founders of the Republican party. He was the fourth GOP national chairman. The luncheon will be at noon.
