      Mr. Dewell E. Springer, 84, died Friday in the Continuous Care of Bartlesville.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday in the East Cross United Methodist Church with Pastor Jason Elmore of the Friday Night Church officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

      Dewell Edward Springer was born on August 13, 1923 at Waynoka, Oklahoma the son of Edward Parmeter and Ella (Sackett) Springer. He was raised in Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Mary Katherine Beard in 1948 and they made their home in Bartlesville. She preceded him in death in 2003. He was a Drafting Engineer for the Phillips Petroleum Company for 32 years retiring in 1984. He was a member of the East Cross United Methodist Church. He was an active member of the 55 Plus Club. He loved to dance and play bridge, when he was young he loved to hunt and work bird dogs. His sons believed he was the example of what a good man should be.

      Dewell is survived by two sons David Springer of Bartlesville and Dewell Edward Springer II of Houston, Texas, three brothers Eugene Springer and his wife Anita of Pawhuska, Clarence Springer and his wife Barbara of Ohio and James Springer and his wife Judy of Bartlesville, two sisters Dorthy Sprouse and her husband Jay of Bartlesville and Leona Cornejo of Amarillo, Texas, one sister-in-law Ann Springer, one daughter-in-law Connie Dean and two grandchildren Chelsey Dakota Springer and Dalton J. David Springer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother Paul Springer and one sister Rosemary Miller.

      James Sackett Springer, 85, resident of Bartlesville, died Friday, August 2, 2013, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

      Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday August 6, 2013, in the First Baptist Church in Dewey, with Pastor Mark Wright officiating. Cremation arrangements were directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

      James Sackett Springer was born August 6, 1927 at Waynoka, Oklahoma to Edward P. and Ella Mae (Sackett) Springer. He was raised in Wann, and received his education in Oakdale, Oklahoma. James worked on a ranch breaking horses and helped on the family farm. He entered the U.S. Army on October 17, 1950 and served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on October 11, 1952. James was employed in a roofing tile manufacturing plant and worked in construction. He was married to Judy Marie King on July 7, 1966 at Dewey, Oklahoma. They made their home in Bartlesville since that time. James was employed with G.B. Williams Construction Company for several years and was the janitor at First Baptist Church in Dewey for fifteen years until retiring in 2007. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for forty-two years.

      Survivors include his wife Judy Marie Springer of the family home in Bartlesville; two daughters Renne Springer of Oologah, Oklahoma and Stacy Atterberry of Dewey; one brother Eugene Springer of Pawhuska; two sisters Dorothy Sprouse of Bartlesville and Leona Cornejo of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren Cheynne and Dakota Atterberry and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Springer was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Shelly Springer; four brothers Clarence, Dewell, Paul and Loyd Springer and one sister Rose Mary Miller.
