70, returned home Friday, November 28, 2008 at home, with her family who lovingly cared for her during her valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving and devoted family, her husband of 53 years, Merlin J. (Sonny) Fish; her daughter, Chris and husband Don Capel, of Spanish Fork; her son, Wayne and wife Lisa, of Salem; her daughter, Theresa Fish, of Temecula, CA; her daughter Anna and husband Scott Petersen, of Payson; her son, Rex and wife René Fish, of Texas; her daughter, Rachel and husband Shawn Luckart, of Fillmore. Maxine is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, all of whom she greatly adored; her brother, Ed
and wife Eileen Broach, of Scottsdale, AZ; her brother, Chuck and wife Rena Broach, of Surprise, AZ; her sister, Sherry and husband Wes Miller, of Phoenix, AZ; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Berry Broach; her mother, Stella Lee Kidwell; her sister, Florine Knox; her brother, Harold Broach; her sister, Jean Baxter; her sister, Nita Mitchell; and her mother-in-law, Evelyn Fish. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she graduated from Westwood Elementary. She attended Glendale HS in Arizona as a youth. Later in life she returned to school and completed her education and finished at Spanish Fork HS. After the birth of her third child, Maxine and Sonny served a building mission for the LDS Church in Scotland and England. She loved doing Genealogy and puzzles, crocheting, baking, and providing support to the Navajo people in Arizona, and other Native American Groups. She served in church positions in the Primary Presidency, Primary teacher, Young Women's and Relief Society Presidencies, also as First Counselor in the Family History Center. She was also made an honorary member of the Elder's Quorum of the 17th Ward in Phoenix, AZ for selling ten tons of potatoes! A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Leland Ward Building, 400 North 700 West, with Bishop Kevin Baadsgaard officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday, prior to services at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be at Spanish Fork Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork.
