In "The Sacketts of America"; page 160, Weygant says that Alexander Sackett,
M. D. died in the year 1814.
------
Information sent to me by Laurie Young has the following:
"A Butler Co. Will received August 2, 1813 pg. 75;
Alexander Sackett, will July 2, 1813. Brother Samuel, sisters Mary, Ann,
Lydia, and Sarah Sackett. Executor Samuel Blair. Witnesses; Rhoda
Stanburrough, John Porter, John D. Keeth. [From Ohio Records and Pioneer
Families; Volume XI No. IV Pg. 207]"
------
The July 2, 1813 date of the will and the August 2, 1813 date for it being presented for probate would place his death between those two dates. The statement by Jordan, below also indicates 1813 as the year of his death. Alexander was born 10 Jan 1786 and if his age at death was 27 yrs., then he died in 1813. - [Thurmon King]
------
In Jordan's "Genealogical and Presonal History of Fayette County
Pennsylvania", Vol. II pg. 343, it says: "Alexander, born in Pennsylvania,
studied medicine with his father and served as surgeion in the war of 1812.
He was attached to General Harrison's command and died of fever at Fort
Meigs, aged twenty-seven years."
