Laura de Rham Proves To Be Original Bride.

The wedding of Laura de Rham and Sabin W. Carr in the ballroom of the Colony Club yesterday afternoon was strictly a family affair. Even the reception which followed was limited to the handful of persons attending the ceremony.

All of which was too bad. For Laura was an original bride and one worthy of a larger audience. She would have none of white satin, tulle and orange blossoms. Instead, her bridal frock was a Fortuna model of golden yellow satin. A yellow wreath in her hair and an armful of brown chrysanthemums completed her decidedly different ensemble. Laura had no attendants. Her father, Frederic Foster de Rham of Tuxedo Park, gave her in marriage. The ceremony was read by her uncle, Justice Frederic Kernochan. As his best man, the bridegroom chose his brother, Philip S. Carr.

In Laura are united the strains of some of New York's most distinguished Colonial families, including those of Hone, Lawrence and Howland, as well as de Rham. Her bridegroom is a son of Mrs. James T. Carr. While an undergraduate at Yale in 1928, he broke all pole vault records and captured the Olympic title to boot.
