      After a short time on Whidbey Island, the family moved to Clallam County 50 years ago. On May 9, 1913, Mr. Watts married Anne Morton in Port Angeles. (Newspaper error on date of marriage reported in obituary as Anne Morton was born in 1913- Clallam County Auditor's Office shows their marriage on 9 May 1931).

      William Oren Watts, 67, 1018 South "I" street, died Tuesday following an extended illness. The funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Harper's Funeral Home.

      Elder Frank Wyman will officiate, with burial to follow in Mt. Angeles Cemetery.

      Mr. Watts was born Oct 17, 1899 in Springfield, Mo. to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Watts. He moved with family to Spokane after attending school in Missouri.

      NOTE: (Newspaper error - Family members state he was born in Fairfield, Mo. not Springfield)

      After a short time on Whidbey Island, the family moved to Clallam County 50 years ago. On May 9, 1913, Mr. Watts married Anne Morton in Port Angeles. (Newspaper error on date of marriage reported in obituary as Anne Morton was born in 1913- Clallam County Auditor's Office shows their marriage on 9 May 1931).

      The couple lived in Sequim for several years where they owned a restaurant. Later, they moved to Port Angeles where Mr. Watts was a boom man for a number of years.

      He then opened the Watts Service Station and Garage which he operated until his retirement in February of this year. He was a member of the Port Angeles Gun Club and bowled with the Commercial Bowling League.

      Mr. Watts is survived by his wife at their home at 1018 South "I" St. Other survivors include a son, Alan C. Watts of Bellingham; a brother, Walter R. Watts of Grants Pass, Ore., and two sisters, Mrs. Orlia Potter of Dalles, Ore., and Mrs. Nellie Barton of Vacaville, Calif.

      Pallbearers Saturday will be Arne Frederiksen, LeRoy Jagger, William Brown, Harry Brown, Larry Fisher and Robert Marshall.

      NOTE: He was married to Hilda Bushnell on 06 Mar 1920 - This marriage was annulled.

      Funeral services were held at Maple Leaf cemetery Wednesday, September 8, a resident of Whidbey Island since 1916 and caretaker at the Hastie Lake gun club since 1940.

      Watts was born December 3, 1885, at Florence, Missouri and died while at work at the club August 30, 1948. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Annie E. Watts of Spokane; two brothers, William O. Watts of Port Angeles and W. R. Watts of Sacramento, California; and five sisters, Mrs. E. E. Sappington of Spokane, Mrs. C. E. Collins of Tacoma, Mrs. Dewey Barton of Alameda, California, Mrs. Orlia Armstrong of Portland, and Mrs. Rose Apps of Seattle. He was a member of Mount Vernon chapter, IOOF.

      Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Kenneth W. Countryman.
