      Relative of Local People Dies at Portland Saturday

      M. E. (Lon) Watts, 61, brother of two local men and son of Mrs. Annie E. Watts, Port Angeles, died at Portland, Oregon last Saturday after a prolonged illness. Mr. Watts had visited here several times and at one time had contemplated going into business here.

      Surviving relatives include the widow, Mrs. Beth Watts, Portland; six sisters, Mrs. E. E. Sappington, Spokane; Mrs. C. E. Collins, Tacoma; Mrs. Dewey Barton, Alameda, Calif., Mrs. C. C. Apps, Seattle, and Mrs. Arthur Dew and Mrs. Orlia Armstrong, Portland; three brothers, James F. Watts, Coupeville, Wash., William O. and Walter R. Watts, Port Angeles, and his mother, Mrs. Annie E. Watts, also of Port Angeles.

      Born January 29, 1884 at Sedalia, Missouri, Mr. Watts came west many years ago. He was active in Masonic and labor circles at Portland.

      Funeral services were held at the Colonial mortuary, Portland, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Dr. Harold W. Jefferies of the Four Square Gospel tabernacle officiating and burial services in Lincoln Memorial park. Pall bearers were Masonic brothers.
