DEATH OF HOMER SACKETT
Former Well Known Avon Man Died In Rochester.
Avon, April 5. On Wednesday, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. P. Harman, No. 8 Schell place, Rochester, occurred the death of Homer Sackett, an old and respected resident of Avon and vicinity. He was born in Mendon, August 17th, l823. He was the oldest son of the late Colonel Orange Sackett, of York. In 1846 he married Margaret McKenzie, since deceased. For several years Mr. Sackett was an enterprising farmer in the town, be being the first from the valley to ship milk to Rochester.
He is survived by three sons, Orange, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Edgar and Charles, of Avon; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah A. Gwynne, of Fancher, N. Y., and Mrs. S. P. Harman, of Rochester; also eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Captain Orange Sackett, of Rimersburg. Pa., and Samuel, of York; two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Choate, of Fowlersville, and Mrs. Frances Lacy, of Avon.
