DEATH OF POPULAR BOY SHOCKS ENTIRE COMMUNITY
After Brief Illness Homer Sackett of Arena Valley Answers Final Summons at Boise.
Arena Valley.?The Valley was shocked Saturday by the sudden death of Homer Sackett at a Boise hospital early Saturday morning. He seemed in usual good health and attended school last Monday but was taken suddenly ill on Tuesday and grew worse until taken to St. Luke's hospital where he underwent an operation Friday night for acute appendicitis which proved too late as the appendix had already bursted.
Homer Maxwell' Sackett was born in Boise, February 1, 1908 and died December 4, 1920, being 12 years, 10 months and three days of age. He is mourned by his mother, Mrs. »C. M Huffman, two sisters, Grace and Opal Sackett and a brother, Glenn Sackett, his constant companion; also by his step-father, two half sisters, and two half brothers. His grandparents, Mr and Mrs. James B. Barker and uncle, Z. B. Barker and family, also feel deeply the loss of Homer, who was a favorite among both relatives and friends.
Six boys from Homes Sunday school class acted as pallbearers at the funeral, which was held Monday at the Christian church in Caldwell. Beautiful floral offerings were sent by the school and Sunday school and a large number of friends from here were in attendance.
Burial was in Canyon Hill cemetery beside the grave of his father, Clarence O. Sacket, who died in August 1910.
