      Charles Ayer Dies In Oregon, Funeral Services in Baggs.
      Charles Mack Ayer, 39, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ayer of Baggs and nephew of Mrs. Andy Stephens of Craig, and A. H. McCarger, Baggs, and died in Myrtle Point, Ore., Saturday evening where he had been under a doctors care for the past six months.
      Mr. Ayer had been ill since December and up to that time was emploued by the Wyoming highway patrol.
      Funeral services will be held in the Babbs Episcopal church at 2 o'clock Thursday aftenoon. Interment will be in the Baggs cemetery.
      He was born in Denver, on Nov. 8, 1924 and was raised in the Snake river valley and attended school at Baggs, where he graduated from high school in 1942.
      In March 1944, he enlisted in the infantry and was wounded in October of that year near the Belgium border while serving with the seventh armored division. He was discharged in 1946.
      During 1945 while in the service he was a guard at the first United Nations conference held in San Fancisco, Calif.
      He wa employed as a deputy sheriff and radio operator with the Carbon County sheriff's office in January 1951 and worked their[sic] until about a year ago when he joined the Wyoming highway patrol and remained with the partol until ill health forced him to resign. He was married to Nancy Ford, Rawlins on Sept. 4, 1952. He was a member of VFW post No. 9439 of Baggs.
      Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nancy Ayer, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter D. Ayer of Baggs and a sister, Donna Ayer of Baggs.

      Mack Ayers, about 32 years of age and former Highway Patrolman in Douglas, Wyoming died Saturday morning in a Myrtle Point, Oregon hospital after an illness of two years.

      He was in ill health for some time before he took sick leave from the patrol. After several months of observation and tests it was learned that he had cancer of the blood and his condition was hopeless.

      Funeral services were held in his home town, Baggs, Wyoming.

      Survivors included his wife, Nancy and his parents.

      Information was obtained from an obituary in the Douglas Budget, August 12, 1954.
