MISS ACHSAH SACKETT DIED THIS MORNIGN, AGED 81.
Miss Achsah Sackett, who has been critically ill at the Jefferson County hospital for several months, passed away this morning at 6:30 o'clock.
Achsah Sackett, the daughter of Simmons and Eda Hays Sackett (sic. Simeon Sackett and Eda Hayes Sackett), was born at Canfield, Ohio, January 16, 1836.
In her fifteenth year she bacame a Christian which she has lived day by day since that time.
With her two sisters and two brothers, she came to Jefferson Co. in March 1870. The sisters at once placed their membership in the Christian church of Fairfield and continued faithful members of the church until they passed on. For several years the three (sic) taught in the Bible School. All were life members of the Christian Womens' Board of Missions.
Miss Achsah was always in her place at the Lord's table during all these years, even on the Lord's Day, October 8th. On the 11th of October, while getting breakfast, she fell and broke her left hip. She lingered in the hospital until the morning of January 5th, passing away at about six-thirty, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 25 days.
She leaves an aged brother, Simmons Sackett and numerous relatives and friends to miss her in the home and church life.
The funeral services will be held from the Christian church at 2:30 tomorrow in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly.
