      **FROM "A GOODLY HERITAGE" :
      For some years, James lived on a farm at Ivy. Eventually he found employment as "...a clerk in Lock's Dry Goods Store in Barrie". Source: The Cronicle and North Simcoe Advocate, July 20, 1899.

      I remember James as once being a turnkey in Barrie Jail, an office which inspired me with some awe, amounting to almost reverence. Later with his family of four children, Alex, Bill, Carrie and Lottie, he moved to Detroit where his family was augmented by three other children: Arthur, Eva, Ernest. There is still a large connection in or near Detroit.

      JENNETT-September 9, 1909, at his residence, 1191 Wabash avenue, James R., beloved husband of Anna E. Jennett. Deceased was a member of Union Lodge No. 3, F. A. M., and Diamond Lodge No. 489, I. O. O. F. Funeral Saturday from residence. Notice of time later.
