Viola "Vi" Joyce Adrian, 81, of South Beloit, IL, received her call home after a short courageous battle with cancer on Monday, June 13, 2011 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Viola was born November 20, 1929 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Harvey Charles and Edna (Visgar) Doud. She was a 1947 graduate of South Beloit High School, South Beloit, IL. Viola married Willis Adrian on December 13, 1952 in Faith Lutheran Church.
Viola was employed by Bell Telephone Company as an operator, Fair Oaks Health Care Center and was one of the first employees to work there, Beloit State Bank, and M&I Bank for over 20 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement she went to work for Employability and the family business Affordable Personnel DBA Express, retiring again in 2010. Viola enjoyed crocheting, camping, playing cards, casinos, reading, and her church. She loved her children, grandchildren and dog, Max. Viola was a life long member of Faith Lutheran Church and was involved in the Altar Guild, LCA, and bible studies.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Willis Adrian of South Beloit, IL; two children, Vicki (Gary) Donalson of Beloit, WI; and Joey Charles (Peggy) Adrian of Rockford, IL; five grandchildren, Jessica (Josh Dobratz) Styan of Janesville, WI, Leah (Chester) Smith of Rochelle, IL, Jeremy Alborn of Rockford, IL, Lucas Adrian of Rockford, IL, and Paige (Justin Seay) Adrian of Loves Park, IL; five great grandchildren, Levi and Emma Smith, Briana, Brandon and Blake Adrian; one sister, Charlotte Whitinger of FL; one brother, Harvey C. Doud of WA; several nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew, Patricia Fulk and Lon Whitinger both of FL; numerous cousins including a special cousin, Bill Schultz and family.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother-in-law, Lee Whitinger and sister-in-law, Bonnie Doud.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 in Faith Lutheran Church, 1305 Blackhawk Blvd., South Beloit, IL, with The Reverend Lu Bettisch officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.

Willis "Willie" F. Adrian, 83, of South Beloit, IL, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 in Beloit Memorial Hospital, Beloit, WI.
He was born December 5, 1930 in Beloit, WI, the son of Henry and Anna (Baker) Adrian. Willie was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the United States Air Force and the United States Navy. Willie married Viola Doud on December 13, 1952 in Faith Lutheran Church. She predeceased him on June 13, 2011.
Willie was formerly employed by the South Beloit Police Department and Beloit Police Department as a police officer. He was also employed by McClearys as a manager and truck driver, retiring in 1988. After retirement, Willie went to work for the family business, Affordable Personnel DBA Express, retiring again in 2010.
Willie enjoyed playing cards, bingo, traveling to casinos and hanging out at Mary?s Place for coffee in the mornings. He was always working with his hands, and spent hour?s woodworking in the garage. Willie was a very patriotic person with a strong faith in the Lord.
He was a member of the American Legion Holtz-Hirst Post #288 and the South Beloit Lions Club.
Survivors include his two children, Vicki (Gary) Donalson of Beloit, WI and Joey Charles (Peggy) Adrian of Rockford, IL; five grandchildren, Jessica (Josh) Dobratz of Janesville, WI, Leah (Chester) Smith of Rochelle, IL, Jeremy Alborn of Rockford, IL Lucas Adrian of Rockford, IL and Paige (Justin Seay) Adrian of Loves Park, IL; five great grandchildren, Levi and Emma Smith, Briana, Brandon and Blake Adrian; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Whitinger of FL; one brother-in-law, Harvey C. Doud of WA; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins, including special cousin, Bill Schultz and family; and his dog, Max.
He was predeceased by his wife, parents, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd. Beloit, WI with Reverend Kelvin Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to VetsRoll or Beloit Regional Hospice.
