    • Some sources say m. Yverden on Lake Neuchâtel, Vaud, Switzerland before 1816, but no evidence that Maria traveled out of the country at that time is available, and the 1813 New York Times announcement argues against that possibility.

Obituary--WILLIAM MOORE De RHAM, died June 8th, aged 19 years.--Thus has death cut off in the spring time of life one who from early youth gave promise of future excellence. With scarcely a warning to prepare him for the change or to bid farewell to those who loved him, his pure spirit has taken its flight, and sweet memory alone remains to tell us of all that was lovely in his character, all that was virtuous in his life. Endeared by an engaging manner and affectionate disposition to a large circle of friends and relatives, his love, by them deeply felt, but while we sorrow for his departure, we should remember that his life while it lasted was improved, and that for death when it came, he was prepared. He was for a long time a student at Columbia College, and his name will never be remembered by his late companions, but as their loved associate, and lamented friends. But a short period before his death, their welfare occupied his thoughts and he requested it to be told to them as his dying words--"That virtue was the only security which would enable them to live in peace, and die in hope." Although he has gone from among us--we trust to a better and a happier world, yet the remembrance of his virtues shall long continue, and his endearing disposition never be forgotten, for of De RHAM it may be said that "None knew him but to love him; none named him but to praise."
