      T. H. Sackett Returns From Father's Funeral

      T. H. Sackett of Livermore, returned Friday night from Ocotlan, Jalisco state, Old Mexico, where he attended the funeral of his father Orin Sackett, who was drowned there two weeks ago. Mr. Sackett flew to El Paso in bis private plane, took the Mexican Central airlines from El Paso to Leon and then went by rail from Leon to Ocotlan, a city which is located about six miles from his father's banana plantation.

Orin Sackett was drowned in a storm on Lake Ocotlan on the evening of Jan. 29 when a boat, powered by an outboard motor, was capsized. Mr. Sackett had sailed across the lake to Ocotlan and was returning to his home when a stiff south wind swept across the lake raising large waves.

The boat was not more than 200 yards from the landing on the plantation when it was turned over. Mr. Sackett, who was alone in the boat, was hurled into the water and was never seen again until his body was recovered the following morning by dragging.

Mr. Sackett is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Keith Bellairs of Cheyenne, Wyo., his son Thorwald of Livermore, and bis wife Florence of Ocotian.

He was well known in Fort Collins and the Livermore district as he had been a frequent visitor during the summer months at his son's ranch.

The trip by air to Mexico was uneventful, according to Mr. Sackett, as excellent flying conditions were experienced all the way.

CHEYENNE, Wyo., Oct. 21.--(AP)--A charge of first degree murder was filed in the district court today against Keith Bellairs for the slaying of R. H. Fasen, Union Pacific shop superintendent and the case Is expected to be heard by a jury called for Dec. 4.

Fasen died early yesterday from the effects of the two bullets fired Into his abdomen. Bellairs surrendered voluntarily and said the shooting followed an altercation between the two which resulted in Bellairs' losing his position with the Union Pacific railroad.

Bellairs also shot Floyd L. Watson whom he blamed with Fasen for the loss of his position. Watson is recovering.

An information charging Bellairs with assault and battery with intent to commit murder in Watson's case also was filed today by Pickett.

CHEYENNE MAN ACQUITTED OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER CHARGE

Sanity Hearing and Trial on Assault Charge Still Pending Against Bellairs

CHEYENNE, Wyo. Dec. 12--(AP)--Keith Bellairs stood acquitted of first degree murder today but he still faces a charge of assault with intent to kill and a sanity hearing.

A jury in the district court acquitted him last night after three hours of deliberation of the first degree murder charge brought in connection with the fatal shooting of B. H. Fasen, Union Pacific stop superintendent here two months ago. He still faces an assault charge for the wounding of Floyd Watson, shot at the same time Fasen was mortally wounded.

A packed courtroom greeted the verdict with a demonstration that was quickly silenced by Judge P. W. Metz. Bellairs was taken back to the Laramie county jail.

Bellairs shot Fasen and Watson in the Union Pacific store room here and then walked to a policeman, told him of the shooting and handed over his pistol. Fasen died a week later from bullet wounds in his stomach but Watson recovered.

Throughout the five day trial the defense, in charge of A. D. Walton, former United States attorney, contended Bellairs' act was that or a man mentally unbalanced through worry over the loss of his position after many years' service with the railroad and he felt Fasen responsible.

Three prosecution alienists (sic) declared him sane.

CONFESSED SLAYER CAPTURED AFTER ESCAPE FROM HOSPITAL

Keith Bellairs Returned to Institution at Evanston Following 24 Hours of Freedom

EVANSTON, Wyo., July 20.--(AP)--Captured after less than 24 hours of freedom, Keith Bellairs, confessed slayer, of Cheyenne, was back in the state hospital for the insane today.

The fugitive was discovered walking along the Lincoln highway in the direction of Cheyenne about 20 miles east of here late yesterday. He gave himself up without resistance and was taken back to the hospital.

Bellairs escaped from the institution about 8 o'clock Wednesday night. His disappearance was discovered immediately and a widespread search for him was begun.

Since last December Bellairs had been patient in the hospital here, committed after a sanity commission had pronounced him insane following his acquittal of first degree murder charges at Cheyenne.

Last Oct. 13 Bellairs shot and killed R. A. Fasen, Union Pacific shop superintendent, and wounded Floyd Watson, a clerk.

The shooting occurred in the office of E. R. Mullens, division storekeeper for the railroad. After the shooting Bellairs walked to the business section, hunted up a policeman, turned over his pistol and gave himself up. He said he had been driven to distraction by worry over the loss of his position and that he had intended to shoot Mullens.

Bellairs has a family in Cheyenne, He formerly lived at Fort Collins, Colo.
