For State Representative
T. H. Sackett
Republicant Ticket
Judgment on a man quite properly begins at home.
Tborwald H Sackett is president of hie own Livermore School District No. 9. He served recently a president of the Larimer County Stockgrowers' association.
In the recent primary his vote was the largest received by any candidate for representative.
Here in brief is the narrative of Thorwald Sackett?s life: Born in Telluride, Colo., 40 years ago, the son of the mining engineer; he came to Fort Collins 22 years ago to enter Colorado Agricultural college, successfully completing his engineering course in 1916. After a brief period of professional work, Mr. Sackett and his bride, Dorothy Emerson Sackett, started ranching at Livermore. Mr. Sackett has been continuously and successfully in charge of a large ranching operation sinca that time and hat been continuously a taxpayer.
Mr. and Mrs. Sackett are the parents of a girl and boy--Leslie Alice, a student in Fort Collins High school and Stanley, still in district school. It is interesting to note that during his last two years at C. A. C., Mr. Sackett was a member of the student council. He has a deep and studious interest in community and public affairs. He has kept his Fort Collin friendship alive and for the past eight years ha been an active member of the Lions club here--driving 26 miles regularly to attend meetings.
Mr. Sackett is thoroly (sic) convinced that our tax system needs revision so as to shift the burden from ranch and home owners. He is ready to back the next governor, Nate C. Warren, in his constructive legislative program.
Mr. Sackett was present in Colorado Springs when the Republican atate platform was adopted, and was present during the past week at a Denver meeting for the discussion of its provisions. He subscribes to this platform--one of the most constructive political documents In Colorado history. Mr. Sackett will be glad to discuss definite problem with voter and he won't "be on the fence" in expressing hie conviction.
Your vote dated will be appreciated.

T. H. Sackett Returns From Father's Funeral
T. H. Sackett of Livermore, returned Friday night from Ocotlan, Jalisco state, Old Mexico, where he attended the funeral of his father Orin Sackett, who was drowned there two weeks ago. Mr. Sackett flew to El Paso in bis private plane, took the Mexican Central airlines from El Paso to Leon and then went by rail from Leon to Ocotlan, a city which is located about six miles from his father's banana plantation.
Orin Sackett was drowned in a storm on Lake Ocotlan on the evening of Jan. 29 when a boat, powered by an outboard motor, was capsized. Mr. Sackett had sailed across the lake to Ocotlan and was returning to his home when a stiff south wind swept across the lake raising large waves.
The boat was not more than 200 yards from the landing on the plantation when it was turned over. Mr. Sackett, who was alone in the boat, was hurled into the water and was never seen again until his body was recovered the following morning by dragging.
Mr. Sackett is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Keith Bellairs of Cheyenne, Wyo., his son Thorwald of Livermore, and bis wife Florence of Ocotian.
He was well known in Fort Collins and the Livermore district as he had been a frequent visitor during the summer months at his son's ranch.
The trip by air to Mexico was uneventful, according to Mr. Sackett, as excellent flying conditions were experienced all the way.
