Virginia Sackett
Virginia R. Sackett of Glen Carbon, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 1991, at her home.
She was born in Alhambra Township, a daughter of the late William H. and Julia Eveleyn Owens Mugler.
She married Ray P. Sackett on May 29, 1942. He preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 1967 [sic; should be 8 Feb 1967].
Surviving are son, Dell Ray Sackett of Camdenton, Mo., a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Schaake of Edwardsville, a brother, William M. Mugler of Moro, two sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Alberta) Weber of Marine, and Isola Gindler of St. Jacob; four grandsons, Kennet, David and Mark Schaake, all of Edwardsville, and Michale Sackett of Camdenton, Mo., and a special friend, Steve Knaby.
Mrs. Sackett was a nurse for private homes and patients.
A member of the Edwardsville Senior Citizens Center, she had lived in the Edwardsville-Glen Carbon area for 41 years.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Mateer Funeral Home, Edwardsville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Herbert Stemler officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Wilhelm (William) H. Mugler was born Sept. 3, 1891 in Alhambra Township, son of William and Katharina Mugler.
He married Julia Owens on July 22, 1914. She died Feb 5, 1933. He married Dena Miller Smith on June 29, 1949.
William Mugler was the father of a son, William M. Mugler, daughters Virginia, Ilola, and Alberta. Mr. Mugler was a retired farmer.
