Raymond Sackett
Raymond P. Sackett, 67, a retired employe of Sinclair Oil Refinery Co. at
Hartford, died suddenly this morning at 2:30 at his home, 1403 Madison Ave.
Mr. Sackett retired in March, 1964 from the Sinclair Refinery where he had
been employed 20 years. He had resided at Hartford eight years prior to
moving to Edwardsville.
Son of the late Phineas and Emilia Hoffmann Sackett, he was born March 14,
1899 at Marine.
Survivors are his wife, the former Virginia Mugler; a son and daughter Dell
Ray Sackett and Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Schaake, both of Edwardsville; two
sisters and a brother, Mrs. Earnie (Lorraine) Poss of Highland, Mrs. Kenneth
(Vera) Brookman and Duaine Sackett of Litchfield. There are four
grandchildren. One brother is deceased.
Mr. Sackett was a member of LeClaire Baptist Church where he had served on
the board of trustees. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of
Operating Engineers No. 525 of Wood River.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from LeClaire
Baptist Church. The Rve. L.E. Mustain, pastor, will officiate.
Friends may call at the Lesley Marks Funeral Home from 7 p.m. Thursday until
11 a.m. Saturday. The body will lie in state at the church from noon
Saturday until the time of service. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
